Give Feedback
They say to praise in public, criticize in private. Not everyone enjoys public praise, so find that out and praise them in private. Sometimes U it serves the common good to criticize in public when letting it go unaddressed would seem like tacit condoning.
Make sure to praise someone for any praiseworthy action they've taken after U've criticized them, they shouldn't feel like U have a problem with them as a person, only with their behavior. In fact, if U give feedback on someone's behavior that can prevent developing feeling of personal dislike. When U don't give feedback and let issues festers that leads to feelings of annoyance.
If U repeatedly give someone negative feedback and they ignore it, then both of U can probably agree that U don't fit together and cleanly separate. If U don't give feedback then it could surprise them that U want a break. Avoid people who ignore feedback, or react poorly to it, in general.
Animal trainers will emphasize that feedback needs to occur close to the eliciting behavior. Give feedback as promptly as possible, in realtime if possible. The best coaches will give continuous feedback in a tight loop, doing so comprises an act of love.
Like a just king, like Cyrus, give praise and blame in proportion to the deed and loyal people will flock to U while U thin the herd of incompetence.
