Proact
Dear Matt,
Within reason, anything U must do eventually do right away. Do what must get done now. Do it now.
If U totally embrace this attitude U will run out of tasks that U must do. Then U will run out of tasks that U should do. Then U can enjoy doing the tasks that U want to do.
Proaction prepares U to fully enjoy and embrace the time U have.
U will experience leisure when U master proaction. Master proaction to experience leisure.
Proacting demolishes procrastination. Proaction removes problems and prevents problems. Procrastination prolongs problems and breeds problems.
Combine proaction with Divide and Conquer. Do Just a Piece proactively.
Getting things done proactively gives U more hit points, it adds a protective layer of preparation so that your life doesn't fall apart when calamity strikes.
Examples of being proactive
- When arriving home, immediately unpack, and then repack packing cubes with fresh clothing so they're ready to go for your next trip.
- When unloading the dishwasher, put in the detergent for the next load.
- Keep dishwashers unloaded, drying racks cleared, sinks clean.
- Return tools to their places immediately after use.
